The youthLEADarts Nova Scotia team has a new youth mentor! Johnny Baker MacDonald stepped up during our March Break sessions to support Melanie McDuff, our youth LEADer deliver a Fun with Food workshop at both Lismore Hall and Little Harbour.
Johnny was one of the first youth to sign up for our leadership program 4 years ago and now, as a gr. 9 high school student, has decided he wants to put his LEADership training into ACTION! As an apprentice LEADer, Johnny will be supporting and encouraging other youth aged 7-12 in our programs to work together to create, collaborate, and challenge themselves to be the best that they can be.
Like our current youth mentor Melanie, Johnny has been volunteering at community events in Lismore since he started his youthLEADarts journey. You would often see his smiling face serving seniors at our Christmas dinner, at our beach clean ups and helping out at Culloden and at our BOKIGO fundraiser. We are so glad that he has joined our team. Welcome Johnny!
