Save the date! Join us for this dynamic exhibit opening and reception on Wednesday, February 25th at Britannia Library in Vancouver. “An East Side Story” was created during a week-long program with youthLEADarts in January, and made possible through the generosity of a CLICK grant.
Photographs taken by grade 6/7 students celebrate their community on The Drive and their relationship to it. Come and enjoy their colourful visual metaphors and poetry.

What the youth have to say about their journey with LEAD: “My standards for myself went up.”
“I learned to set the bar high. I realized I am more competent than I think.”
“Art expands your brain.”
“I learned not to take the easy way out.”
“I learned independent thinking, how to figure things out.”
Whether from near or far, let’s give these youth a huge round of applause for all they have accomplished in a short time. Special thanks to the Britannia Community Centre and the Vancouver Public Library for promoting and hosting this event and to Mandee for installing it.
