Through the voices and images of our youth, we at youthLEADarts continue to celebrate National Poetry Month. Pascal’s original words and photograph highlight the need to leave space in our days to calm down and catch our collective breath. The world can be chaotic and we all need to be ‘benched’ once in a while, to carve out space and time away from the noise, to simply be.
You’re Benched
By: Pascal
Patience.
In this photo,
you see a man sitting on a bench.
He doesn’t seem to be doing much.
He is waiting.
Simply waiting.
As the world goes by,
he continues to wait.
Life is stressful and fast paced
but always remember to take a break and relax.
Sometimes watching the world change and grow,
is all you need to calm down and recollect.
As time moves on,
it’s ok
to sit still
and catch your breath.
