When Everything Feels Off…by Youth Writer, Brooklyn Earl

Some days, everything just feels… off.

You wake up tired, even if you slept. You don’t feel like talking to anyone, but you also don’t want to be alone. Little things annoy you more than they should, and your mind won’t stop racing.

And the worst part? You can’t always explain why.

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

Being a teen today is a lot. There’s school, expectations, friendships, social media, and this constant pressure to have your life figured out—even when you’re still figuring out yourself. It’s overwhelming, and it’s okay to admit that.

A lot of people think mental health struggles have to look “serious” to matter. But that’s not true. Feeling stressed all the time, overthinking everything, comparing yourself to others, or just feeling numb—those things count too.

It doesn’t mean you’re weak. It doesn’t mean something is wrong with you.

It means you’re human.

Sometimes your brain just gets overloaded. You’re dealing with emotions, changes, and pressures all at once. Even if it doesn’t look like much on the outside, it can feel like a lot on the inside.

As a teen myself I can relate because of how much stuff I have been through this year.  I struggled with depression so much that I sometimes felt alone, but with the support I had, I was able to feel like myself again.

So, the message I want to leave you with is this: you are not alone, and you never have to face this by yourself. There is help, there is hope, and there is a future where you feel like yourself again. Just don’t give up.
