youthLEADarts in Nova Scotia is partnering with Lismore and District Community Centre for their Trunk or Treat event happening on Halloween night, October 31st from 5:30pm-8pm.
This is the second year that youthLEADarts will be providing hot chocolate and hot dogs for families out trick or treating. Community members are invited to decorate their trunks and gather in the Lismore and District Community Centre parking lot to give out treats in one location so parents/caregivers don’t have to drive all over the district to trick or treat.

As each of the programs involves food handling and preparation, some of the youthLEADarts team in Nova Scotia began the Food Safe Certification Program in October with costs covered by youthLEADarts. This is a wonderful opportunity for our youth mentors to increase their skills and knowledge as well as gain more employable skills and certification.
youthLEADarts is not just about art and expression…it is through these gatherings, programs and community outreach initiatives that youth have the opportunity to try their hand at skills needed in design, construction, engineering and service industries and increase their proficiency, aptitude and confidence in each arena. It creates places where they can learn about the needs in their own, national and international communities and discover ways to address them while developing the skills to do so.

Visit Trunk or Treat and you will see youth stepping up and going where they are needed. They are designing and constructing, feeding and nurturing, taking action and driving us all towards a positive future.
