We are halfway through August, I am halfway through my swim-a-thon and we are halfway to our goal of raising $5,000 for youthLEADarts kids across Canada.
As I swim lap after lap, I think of the youngsters whose stories need hearing, youngsters who fall between the cracks if not for youthLEADarts programs. I wonder what they are doing when there is no school and few places for them to play and create together? Sara is one of them.
Sara glows when given the opportunity to express herself. She lives in Canada’s lowest income neighbourhood with insufficient access to the necessities of life, including food and shelter. On the autism spectrum, Sara is one of the children handpicked to participate in youthLEADarts programs at her school. With your support, she can continue to glow and grow as she discovers how she can be creative, confident and courageous through play and art.
